The no annual fee Discover it Cash earns 5% cash back each quarter in rotating bonus categories. Plus, they double all the cash back you earn during your first year, paid out at your first anniversary. So, 5% cash back becomes 10% cash back.
With Amazon and Wholesale Clubs as bonus categories, it will be easy to max out the bonus this quarter on Holiday shopping. But, here are the two ways we’d use these bonus categories to save on Disney gift cards.
Option 1: BJ Wholesale
Total Savings: 13.6%
BJs Wholesale sells $100 Disney gift card for $95.99 online. There is no shipping fee but you do need at least the $10 annual online membership.
If you bought a $100 Disney gift card, you’d get another $9.60 in cash back as a new Discover it Cash cardcmember, $4.80 now and $4.80 at the end of the first year. In total, you’ll have gotten a $100 Disney gift card for $86.39.
Option 2: Sam’s Club
Total Savings: 14.2%
Sam’s Club sells a 3-pack of $50 gift cards for $142.98 online. There’s no shipping fee but you do need to be a Sam’s Club member.
If this is your first year with the Discover it Cash, you’ll get $7.15 in cash back now and $7.15 at the end of your first year. In total, you’ll have paid $128.62 for $150 in Disney gift cards.
