We can all agree that Disney vacations are expensive. Finding ways to save is important for every family. One of our favorite strategies is saving on Disney gift cards. Did you know Disney gift cards can be used to pay for your whole Disney vacation? Imagine buying a dollar for 85 cents but promising to spend that dollar at Disney. It’s just like that when you save on Disney gift cards.
We’ll show you how to stack some discounts on Disney gift cards with a great cash back credit card. It will help you save on your next Disney vacation.
The Best Credit Card for Disney Gift Cards
Some credit cards are especially helpful for saving on Disney gift cards. Our favorite is the Chase Freedom. It has no annual fee and earns 5% cash back in different categories each quarter. Those categories often include stores that sell Disney gift cards at a discount.
From October through December, the 5% Chase Freedom bonus categories are Wholesale Clubs, Department Stores, and any store that accepts Chase Pay. Here are three ways to use the Chase Freedom to save on Disney Gift Cards.
Option 1: BJs Wholesale
Totals Savings: 8.81%
BJs Wholesale sells $100 Disney gift cards for $95.99 online. There is no shipping charge, but you do need at least the $10 online membership to purchase them.
If you pay with a Chase Freedom, you’ll get another 5% cash back, bringing the cost of that $100 Disney gift card down to $91.19.
Option 2: Sam’s Club
Total Savings: 9.4% (possible 19%)
Sam’s Club sells a 3-pack of $50 Disney gift cards for $142.98. You’ll earn another 5% cash back by using your Chase Freedom.
When you stack the initial discount from Sam’s Club, plus the Chase Freedom cash back, you’ll end up paying $135.83 for $150 in Disney gift cards.
YMMV Bonuses: The Dosh cash back app pays for in-store purchases at Sam’s Club. It is currently giving an extra 5%. Just download Dosh, link your Chase Freedom, and search Sam’s Club to find the discount.
Plus, Uber has been giving 5% in Uber credits at Sam’s Club through their Visa Local Offers program. Again, just link your Chase Freedom before the purchase.
Option 3: Best Buy
Total Savings: 15.5%
Best Buy doesn’t discount their gift cards, but you can earn Swagbucks when you buy them. If you purchase a $100 Disney gift card, you can earn $9.50 worth of Swagbucks. Just sign up for Swagbucks and scan your QR code at check out (full details).
