Breakfast Always Tastes Better When It’s Free: Homewood Suites by Hilton Anaheim Main Gate Review

Ahhhh, Sunny California. During the gray of early Seattle Spring, I am definitely guilty of doing a little California Dreaming…okay, A LOT of California Dreaming. The Homewood Suites by Hilton Anaheim Main Gate Area is a great, family friendly hotel just two miles from Disneyland and nearby to some glorious sunshine filled Orange County beaches.

The average cost of a room at this hotel is $247 or 30,000 Hilton HHonors points in most cases. However, this is not just an ordinary room, it is a suite, with a fully equipped kitchen and a separate living area with a pull out sofa bed. This hotel has one (your best option on points) or two bedroom suites. Each bedroom has either two Queen sized beds or one King sized bed (and these beds are super comfy). There are also two televisions in the suite, one in the bedroom and one in the living area. The kitchen includes a full sized fridge, microwave, two burner stove, and a dishwasher. This is so nice for the family looking to save money on meals when traveling to Disneyland.

I am such a fan of Homewood Suites. I am also a fan of waffles. And, Homewood Suites has some good waffles. The biggest perk, in my opinion, for Homewood Suites is the complimentary hot breakfast. Especially for the family traveling to Disneyland, it’s so nice to get all the kids loaded up on free food before hitting the park…providing energy and allowing for some major money saved by not having to pay for theme park meal prices. If free breakfast wasn’t enough, there is also a complimentary evening social Monday-Thursday nights. This social offers drinks and small plates. The specific menus for these evening socials are on the hotel’s website if you want to look ahead to see if your family would like what’s offered. I looked at a sample menu, and there was a slider night, a pasta night, and a Pho night, just to name a few. If you are visiting Disneyland during the week, you are looking at not only one meal your family could eat for free, but possibly two. Free food makes me so happy.

Another great perk to this hotel is an inexpensive shuttle service to Disneyland. This shuttle runs every thirty minutes to the Disneyland Resort area, with shuttles running until 1:00 am. The daily rate for this shuttle is $5.00 per adult, and $2.00 per child. This price is good for all day. This will not only save you money on parking at the park, but also on the time it takes to find a parking spot.

Relax by the pool after a long day at the Disneyland Resort.

This hotel also has many other amenities such as a pool, fitness room, 24 hour convenience store, coin operated laundry machines, to name a few. Some cons to this hotel is that it costs $12 a night to park and the elevators are very slow if you choose to go that route to an upper floor room.  However, it is clean, comfortable, family friendly, has free food, and Target is right across the street…you can’t go wrong with that.
