A $700 sign up bonus and no annual fee for the first year. That was enough to get us to sign up for the Barclaycard Arrival Plus. It’s our first sign up bonus of the year and we’ll be using it to save on our next Disney vacation.
The card comes with 70,000 miles after spending $5,000 in the first three months. These miles can be redeemed as a statement credit for travel purchases. One mile is worth one penny. Plus, when you redeem those miles they give you 5% of them back. So, you’ll actually get another 3,500 miles ($35) out of that sign up bonus eventually.
You’ll earn two miles for every dollar you spend on the card, which equals 2% back.
How to Spend Barclaycard Miles on a Disney Vacation
You can redeem your miles for eligible travel purchases. This includes hotels and Disney vacation packages. However, it’s important to remember that ticket-only purchases through Disney do not code as a travel purchase. If you only need tickets, we recommend buying them through Undercover Tourist. It will code as a travel purchase and you’ll be able to redeem your miles. Plus, you’ll save a little as well.
Also, if you stay at a Disney hotel, charge you food and your souvenirs back to your room. Since they’ll be on your hotel, they’ll become eligible travel purchases too.
We’re excited about our new Barclaycard Arrival Plus. It’s a pretty simple way to save $700 on a Disney vacation.
