Best Ways to Use the Marriott Free Night Certificate at Disney

The Marriott and Starwood credit cards offer a free night each year with your annual fee. It’s good for any hotel that costs 35,000 points or less. There are some great options for both Disney World and Disneyland. Here are the best ways to use the Marriott free night certificate at Disney.

1) Gaylord Palms Resort & Convention Center

Average Cost Per Night: $336
Points Per Night: 35,000

The beautiful Gaylord Palms is just across I-4 from Disney World, and only a 10-15 minute drive (or shuttle ride) away. With it’s own water park, a trip to the Gaylord Palms is almost a complete vacation by itself.

With any of the Starwood or Marriott credit cards, you’ll earn a free night each year that you could use at the Gaylord Palms and save an average of $336 per night. The Gaylord does have a $22 resort fee, which you’ll likely still have to pay.

2) Residence Inn at Anaheim Resort/Convention Center

Average Cost Per Night: $330
Points Per Night: 35,000

You’ll notice in the first picture that the Residence Inn at Anaheim Resort/Convention Center is directly across the street from Pixar Pier at Disneyland. Not only is this a prime location, but you can get a 544 square foot Deluxe Queen One Bedroom Suite with your free night certificate. It has a fully equipped kitchen and free breakfast each day.

You can stay here for 35,000 points per night, or by using your free night certificate. But otherwise, you’ll pay $330 on average after taxes and fees.

3) SpringHill Suites at Anaheim Resort/Convention Center

Average Cost Per Night: $314
Points Per Night: 35,000

That’s Guardians of the Galaxy: Mission Breakout at Disneyland in the background (back when it was still Tower of Terror). The SpringHill Suites at Anaheim Resort/Convention Center is at the Southeast corner of Disneyland, a very short walk to the entrance.

You can get a large King or 2 Queen Studio Suite that sleeps up to 6 with your free night certificate or 35,000 points per night. You’ll also get a free hot breakfast every morning.

4) Orlando World Center Marriott

Average Cost Per Night: $307
Points Per Night: 35,000

A short drive across I-5, the Orlando World Center Marriott is a 10 minute drive to the entrances of Epcot or Hollywood Studios at Disney World. This is the kind of resort that could have your kids making a tough decision between Disney World and the pools.

You’ll get a Resort View 1 King or 2 Queen room with your free night certificate or 35,000 points per night. These rooms are surprisingly spacious at 425 square feet. The only downside is a $25 resort that likely won’t get waived.
