I love October. Mainly because Halloween is in it. I love, love, love little kids dressed up, especially in Disney Costumes. Did you know you can earn a ton of points buying Halloween costumes for your kiddos? It’s true. You can also use rebate programs offered by credit cards to save money. This post will detail some of our favorite costumes and how you can earn more points or save money. Three Cheers for Halloween…and getting some more points for Neverland.
Amex Offers is a rebate program offered with most American Express cards. When you shop with certain participating retailers, you get cash automatically from American Express. Read our Amex Offers Explained for full details.
Wholesale Halloween Costumes
Wholesale Halloween Costumes had some really cute costumes, like this one. I showed this to our six year old, who audibly gasped when she saw that it lights up. This is perfect for your little one who has a flair for the dramatic….which both of my girls have in spades.
Our little one is obsessed with Sheriff Callie. When she told me that she wanted to be Sheriff Callie for Halloween, I immediately tried to steer her in a different direction, thinking there was no way I would find that costume. A sheriff/cat combination is so odd to me, but the heart wants what it wants. Costume Discounters to the rescue. I just put this one in my cart. She WILL be Sheriff Callie for Halloween. And she will be the cutest sheriff/cat combo in all the land.
We use Discover Deals in conjunction with our Discover it Cash card. It’s a shopping portal that allows you to save on your purchases with a retailer or get cash back. We really love it for Sam’s Club purchases this quarter. From October through December, you get 5% cash back when you use your Discover it Cash card. You can get an additional 5% back when use the Discover Deals portal for Sam’s Club online. Plus, if you’re a new card member, Discover doubles all your cash back at the end of your first year. That means you could end up getting 20% cash back on your Halloween costumes.
Nothing cuter than a tiny super hero. I know my nephews would love this Iron Man costume. And for a good price too, only $17. Check out Sam’s Club for great costumes at low prices.
Chase Ultimate Rewards
Chase Ultimate Rewards has it’s own shopping portal for card members. Use your Ultimate Rewards earning credit card to earn 10 points per dollar at Costume Super Center through the portal. Plus you’ll get what your card would normally earn for this purchase (1 point per dollar). If you use a card like the Chase Sapphire Preferred, you could transfer those points to Southwest Airlines or Hyatt, two great travel partners for Disney vacations.
Costume Super Center
My oldest daughter loves the dark side. She wants to be Darth Vader for Halloween. She also likes to be girly….so this Darth Vader girl costume is perfect for her. I just showed it to her and she said it was the one, so into the cart it goes. So cute! If Darth Vader can be described as cute?
The Southwest Airlines Shopping Portal is another great opportunity to earn Rapid Rewards. Southwest is our favorite airline for rewards flights to Disney. And, they feature the Disney Store in their shopping portal, giving you the opportunity to earn two points per dollar spent on all your purchases there.
The Disney Store
How many of your kiddos love Elena of Avalor? I have to admit, I like her too. This is a super cute Elena of Avalor costume. Love the red! Plus, it’s the Disney Store. You wouldn’t be reading this site if you didn’t love the Disney Store.
