Cheap Hotels Near Orlando Airport

You booked a 7 am flight out of Orlando International Airport at the end of your Disney vacation. Then, you realized Disney’s Magical Express wants to pick you up three hours before your flight. Suddenly leaving your resort at 4 am sounds terrible. Now, you’re looking for cheap hotels near Orlando airport so you can sleep two more hours.

Or, maybe you land at MCO at 11:30 pm and you don’t want to make the 30 minute drive to Disney World and pay the money for your Disney resort hotel. Both of these scenarios are very common. Not only can you find cheap hotels near Orlando airport, you can get them for free using points. We’re going to highlight three hotels in our favorite hotel brands you can get for free, and one cash option we really like.

Cheap Hotels Near Orlando Airport

Hyatt Place Orlando Airport

The Hyatt Place Orlando Airport is a Category 1 Hyatt hotel. This means it only costs 5,000 points a night. The best way to get Hyatt points is with the Chase Sapphire Preferred. You can earn up to 55,000 points with its sign up bonus and transfer those points directly to Hyatt. So, you could actually stay here for 11 nights for free with just the sign up bonus.

Lest you think this is some crummy place to stay, it is the #25 hotel in Orlando on TripAdvisor at the time of writing this post. It comes with a free hot breakfast, complimentary parking if you need it, and free airport shuttle service. We think this is the best use of points near Orlando International Airport.

DoubleTree by Hilton Orlando Airport Hotel

The DoubleTree by Hilton Orlando Airport Hotel is a Category 3 Hilton hotel. At this level, the hotel is 20,000 points every night. It’s worth noting there are no Category 1 hotels in Florida and only one Category 2 in the whole state. Plus, Hilton points are much easier to earn than Hyatt points, so this is actually a pretty close second place. If don’t have Hilton HHonors points already, we recommend the Hilton HHonors Surpass, which earns points quickly and has a solid sign up bonus.

This is also another hotel that ranks well on TripAdvisor and typically costs $150-$200 a night (if you’re not using points). With a free shuttle service to the airport and close proximity, this is a great hotel to consider.

Sheraton Suites Orlando Airport

Maybe you have the Starwood Preferred Guest Amex and used points stay at Walt Disney’s Dolphin for free. That hotel cost you 10,000 points a night (you might have also gotten your 5th night free). The Sheraton Suites Orlando Airport hotel costs 7,000 a night. This is a little higher points rate than we’d like to see for this $150-ish a night hotel. But, if you can save a few thousand Starwood points staying here and be 30 minutes closer to the airport, it’s probably worth it.

This is another hotel with close proximity to the airport and free shuttle service. This all-suite hotel will offer you a bit of space on your last night. Rooms are 450 square feet or larger.

Comfort Suites Orlando Airport

If you’ve got to pay cash, we recommend the Comfort Suites Orlando Airport. This is a hotel that runs around $100 a night. That hundred dollars is going to get you a free breakfast and free shuttle to the airport. It consistently gets good reviews which can give you peace of mind that you’ll be getting a good clean room and reasonable service.

When we’re not using hotel points to get free stays, we also use the Discover it Cash card to earn up to 10% cash back in certain bonus categories. This can be a great way to pay for your park tickets. But, it can also help in a situation like this when you’re looking for cheap hotels near Orlando airport.
