Courtyard Anaheim Theme Park Entrance Review

A prime location, spacious, family friendly rooms, and an awesome water park make the Courtyard Anaheim Theme Park Entrance one of the best options for families traveling to Disneyland.

Location, Location, Location

On Harbor Blvd, The Courtyard Anaheim Theme Park Entrance is really close to the action. In fact, it is just about a five minute walk to the entrance of both parks.

This hotel is also within easy walking distance of many eating establishments as well, such as Panera and McDonalds (perfect breakfast places before a day at the parks). The Courtyard Anaheim Theme Park Entrance also has on campus dining options (The Bistro, The Terrace, and The Market).

Family Friendly Rooms

The rooms at the Courtyard Anaheim Theme Park Entrance are incredibly accommodating for those traveling with children. No matter what room you choose (King or Queen), each room comes with twin bunk beds (such an amazing perk), a refrigerator, and a microwave.  The rooms also have wifi and Netflix streaming. The kids can have their own bed! I think this would save on so much bickering…not to mention your kids getting good sleep on vacation.

Awesome Water Park

The Surfside Water park is exclusive to guests of the Courtyard Anaheim Theme Park Entrance. This is not just a hotel with one slide, the Surfside Water park has water slides, a drench bucket, a swimming pool, a kid’s pool. Elevated on the hotel’s property, the Surfside Water park is also known to be the perfect spot to view the Disneyland fireworks display.

Stay Free at Courtyard Anaheim Theme Park Entrance

The hotel is a Category 7 Marriott hotel, which means it costs 35,000 points per night. You can also get a 5th night free when using points, so 140,000 points would get you five free nights. There are two credit cards to consider for this. First, is the Marriott Premier Card, which comes with a sign up bonus up to 87,500 points. This card has the better sign up bonus, but the daily rewards earning rate is not as good in general as the other.

The second is the Starwood Preferred Guest Card, which comes with 25,000 points. Marriott recently bought Starwood, so Starpoints can be transferred to Marriott at a 1:3 rate. So, your 25,000 point sign up bonus is actually 75,000 Marriott points. This is a hotel that runs $300 a night in many cases, so the sign up bonus offers a nice savings.

In Conclusion

We give two thumbs way up to the Courtyard Anaheim Theme Park Entrance. In our opinion, it is the way to go if you are traveling with multiple children. We think the water park is just as good as any of the Disney owned hotels, but it costs less and is just as close. Add in the option to get some free nights on points, and this Courtyard Hotel is one of our favorites.
