Discover has added additional bonus categories to those already announced for the Discover it Cash. And, they make for some great opportunities to save on Disney vacations. The new categories are PayPal, Target, and Walmart.com.
This means you’ll earn 5% cash back in these categories on up to $1,500 in purchases in their respective quarters. And, you get it doubled at the end of your first year is you’re a new card member. Getting 10% total in cash back is a quick and easy way to save on your Disney vacation. Here’s how:
From July through September, PayPal has been added to the bonus category of restaurants. PayPal can be used online at American Airlines, Airbnb, Disney Store, Etsy, JetBlue, and United Airlines. So, starting in July, you’ll be able to save 5% or 10% (first year card members) on purchases made with them.
If you already have the Target REDcard, you’re getting 5% off already. However, if this is your first year as a card member with the Discover it Cash, meaning all the cash you earn is getting doubled at the end of the year, it’s the card to use. Since Target sells Disney gift cards, this will be a great way to save 10% on them.
Walmart gift cards can be used at Sam’s Club to buy Disney gift cards. And Sam’s Club usually sells them at around a 4% discount. While it’s a bit of a two-step process, you could buy Walmart gift cards and then use them at Sam’s and save quite a bit on your Disney gift cards.
