Disney’s Pop Century Resort Hotel Review

Pop Century is actually my favorite hotel in the Walt Disney World Resort. The main reason being that it is so very affordable, but also because it is so dang cute. The average guest room rate for Pop Century is $146 with tax based on the sample bookings we ran (or 11,680 Chase Ultimate Rewards if you have Chase Sapphire Preferred card). This awesome value resort takes great pride in paying homage to nostalgic pop-culture fads from the 1950s-1990s. This is seen throughout the Pop Century grounds. With every turn, you are met with larger than life objects from yesteryear, from a gigantic juke box in 1950s to a huge 1990s computer, this hotel is thematic to the max! (how’s that for an 80s catchphrase?)

Speaking of themes, Pop Century’s themed pools are the best. If you want lots of action, head to the main pool, the Hippy Dippy Pool. This pool is large and has a kiddie pool nearby with water fountains for your littles to splash around in. The Hippy Dippy pool is the perfect place for you and your family to beat the Florida heat and take a break from all things theme park. And adults, this pool also has Petals Pool Bar nearby in case you are in need of an adult beverage.  If you’re like me, during my breaks from the parks, I want peace and quiet. There are two smaller pools at Pop Century (1950s Bowling Pool (pictured above) and 1990s Computer Pool) that offer a quieter atmosphere.

The hotel rooms themselves at Pop Century are simple and clean, offering everything you need for a good night’s sleep, without breaking the bank. In each room there are two double beds (or a King sized bed, which must be requested at the time of your reservation), a mini fridge, a night stand, alarm clock, television, dresser with ample drawer space, a small table with two chairs, an open closet with shelf space, and a small safe for your valuables.  There is a vanity area with a sink that is separate from the toilet and bathtub/shower. The room also has a hair dryer and an iron/ironing board. Each room’s décor also reflects the decade on what building your room is located in, which offers a touch of thematic whimsy. Being a detailed person myself, I really appreciate this.

The amenities at Pop Century are top-notch. It really does have everything you could ever want. It has a food court with seven food stations, in room pizza delivery, an arcade, a playground, jogging trails, Movies under the stars, and complimentary parking. Like with all Walt Disney World Resort hotels, there is a transportation hub at the front of the hotel, where complimentary buses take you to and from all the Disney Parks, as well as Disney Springs. As you wait for the bus at Pop Century, there is always fun music from past decades playing from outdoor speakers, which gets you in the mood for a fun day at the parks. I don’t know about you, but The Jackson 5 and old school Whitney Houston always make me happy.

My family has stayed at Pop Century numerous times. We absolutely love it and know you will too.
