Easy Way We Saved $1,299.28 on Universal Orlando Tickets

We just booked our 3-day 2-Park Park-to-Park tickets for our next trip to Universal Orlando. For our family of four (adult tickets), what would have cost $1,299.28 through the Universal Orlando website, we got for 81,418 Chase Ultimate Rewards. Here’s how:

Using Chase Ultimate Rewards for Universal Orlando Tickets

How Ultimate Rewards Work

Many of the Chase credit cards earn Ultimate Rewards. These include popular options like the Freedom, Freedom Unlimited, Sapphire Preferred and Sapphire Reserve cards. You can use the points you earn on these cards to book travel through Chase.

If you have the Sapphire Preferred or Sapphire Reserve cards, Chase will give you a bonus on your points when you book travel with them. They’ll be worth 1.25 or 1.5 cents per point respectively on those cards. For example, 10,000 Ultimate Rewards is worth $125 on travel with the Sapphire Preferred and $150 with Sapphire Reserve.

Booking Universal Orlando Tickets with Chase Ultimate Rewards

You can either book Universal Orlando tickets by calling Chase Travel at 1-888-511-5323 or you can log into your Ultimate Rewards account and choose the “Things to Do” option under the “Travel” menu.

After you find the right ticket for you and check out using points, Chase will email you a voucher that you’ll print and take to a Will Call kiosk near the entrance of the parks to pick up your tickets.

We carry a Chase Sapphire Reserve, so we got 1.5 cents for each point. And, Chase was actually selling the tickets for nearly $20 less per ticket than Universal (although not quite as cheap as Undercover Tourist).

  • 81,418 Chase Ultimate Rewards spent
  • $1,229.28 saved on tickets (Universal Orlando website price)
  • Using Chase Sapphire Reserve

Can You Book Disney Tickets This Way?

While you can book Universal hotels, tickets, and vacation packages with Chase Ultimate Rewards, you can’t book Disney vacations. It was possible in the past, but Chase dropped all Disney hotels and tickets without notice or explanation. However, it’s still a great way to pay for your Universal Orlando vacations.
