Fly to Hawaii using British Airways Avios from eight cities on the West Coast. British Airways has recently updated their award chart. You will now pay 26,000 points for a round trip flight to Hawaii (was 25,000). This is taking direct flights only, and you’ll actually be flying with their partner airlines, either American Airlines or Alaska Airlines.
Best Ways to Earn Avios
You can transfer points to British Airways from Chase Ultimate Rewards, American Express Membership Rewards, and Marriott. Chase Ultimate Rewards are our favorite overall point system and you can learn more about them on our Chase Ultimate Rewards Strategy post.
British Airways Award Chart
First, it’s important to know that the British Airways award chart is per segment. If your itinerary has a stop, you’ll pay in points like it’s two shorter flights. You’ll almost always be better off with non-stop flights.
Here’s the award chart for using Avios to fly partner airlines in US:
|Flight Distance (miles)||Number of Points (Economy Seat)|
|1 to 650||7,500 Avios|
|651 to 1,151||9,000 Avios|
|1,152 to 2,000||11,000 Avios|
|2,001 to 3,000||13,000 Avios|
Flying from any of the West Coast cities to Hawaii will be in the 2,001 to 3,000 mile range and therefore cost you 13,000 points each direction.
