Four Points by Sheraton Orlando International Drive on Points

Do you love to save? While I love luxurious hotels, most of the time I’d rather save the points and stay someplace economical. If you’re like me, the Four Points by Sheraton Orlando International Drive on points is the place for you. It’s a three star hotel just about a mile from Universal Orlando.

It only costs 4,000 points a night during the week and 3,000 on weekends (Friday and Saturday). This means an entire week is just 26,000 points. To put that in perspective, the sign up bonus for the Starwood Preferred Guest credit card is 25,000 points.

Note: Marriott is merging the Starwood program and this property will become part of the merged Marriott program on August 1st, 2018 and have a new category. We’ll update this when we know more.

Room

For only 3,000-4,000 points per night, you’re getting a fantastic value. While the rooms are basic and the hotel feels a little older, the rooms are comfortable.

Pool

We take afternoon breaks from the theme parks. We either sleep or lounge in the pool. While it’s nothing fancy, this a nice clean pool to lounge in. And, it has a meager splash pad for the little ones.

Transportation & Parking

Shuttle – The hotel offers a free shuttle to Universal. At the time we stayed, it ran in the mornings once an hour from 7 am to 11 am. Then, it picked up at the parks close to once an hour after the parks closed until midnight.

Walking – If you decide to walk, which we did about half the time, it’s just over a mile from CityWalk.

Parking – Free Parking!

Stay on Points

The new Marriott Rewards Premier Plus card is offering 100,000 Marriott points when you spend $5,000 in the first three months. You can transfer Marriott points at a 3:1 rate to Starwood. This means the you’d have 33,333 Starwood points from the sign up bonus, which is about enough for nine free nights here.
