Get a large, 2 Bedroom Suite that sleeps up to 8 within walking distance of Disneyland. And, save hundreds per night by using points to pay for it. The Residence Inn Anaheim Maingate is a great Disneyland hotel for large families and we’ll show you how to book it for very little.
This strategy is part of our Top 10 for Disneyland. Check out all the other great ways to save on a Disneyland vacation.
Bi-Level 2 Bath Loft, 2 Bedroom Penthouse Suite
A standard room at the Residence Inn Anaheim Maingate is 35,000 Marriott Rewards per night. But, they also offer an upgraded room with points and cash. The Penthouse Suite has two rooms, one with a King-sized bed and the other with two queens. It also has a sofa bed and full kitchen.
This 700 square foot suite is available for 35,000 points plus $140 per night. The full cash cost is just over $400 per night on average. So you’re likely to save around $260 per night when you use points. Plus, you can get the 5th Night free when you book your stay with points. (You still pay the $140 for the 5th night.)
Earning Enough Points
Our favorite way to earn Marriott Rewards is with the Starwood Preferred Guest Card. Starwood points transfer to Marriott at a 1:3 rate. Every Starwood point is worth three Marriott points. The Starwood Preferred Guest Card comes with a 25,000 point sign up bonus (worth 75,000 Marriott). This is more than enough for a couple discounted nights right off the bat.
