We just back from Disneyland and we stayed at the Hotel Menage. Just a ten-to-fifteen minute walk from Disneyland, this hotel is close to the action. Our five night stay would have cost $853.10, but we used 28,000 Starpoints we got from our Starwood Preferred Guest Card to stay for free.
In Spring 2017, The Hotel Menage is becoming Four Points by Sheraton Anaheim. It will remain a Starwood hotel, but become one of their official brands.
The rooms are currently being renovated floor by floor, which means your room could be updated, outdated, or in the case of our room, in between. Our room was clean and spacious, but didn’t have carpet.
Simple, Yet Clean
Our room was very simple and the bathroom was outdated. However, it was clean and had everything we needed. When we travel to Disneyland, we don’t spend much time in the room, so this hotel suited us fine. If you do like to spend a lot of time in your hotel room, this hotel might not be the best for you…in it’s current state. I do think it is going to be awesome once it fully undergoes it’s Four Points by Sheraton renovation.
The hotel is located at the corner of I-5 and Harbor Blvd. It didn’t bother us in our room, but if you got a room closest to I-5, it could be noisy. This would be worth a conversation with the front desk; we found them to be very helpful and accommodating to our needs.
- The Lobby and Bar area of the Hotel Menage has a rustic chic feel. It gives a good impression when walking through the front lobby doors.
- The pool area was nice and clean, with beautiful palm trees surrounding the property. The outside bar is nice as well and has an island ambiance. You can even see Disneyland fireworks from the pool.
- There is a doorman who opens the door for you every time you return back to the hotel. This is a nice personal touch.
- It is close proximity to the Disneyland Parks. Just less than a mile away from Disneyland’s main gate, it’s a short walk down Harbor Blvd. But, there is a stretch where the sidewalk comes right up to the street. So, if you are traveling with small children, you will most definitely need to hold their hands as you walk in certain spots.
The Hotel Menage (soon to be Four Points by Sheraton Anaheim) is one of the best options on points for the economical traveler. The Starwood credit card comes with a 25,000 point sign up bonus, so getting five nights for 28,000 (worth over $800) is a great deal. But, the hotel is not without it’s drawbacks for someone who is wanting a luxury hotel experience.
