How to Use Barclaycard Miles at Disney
Here are all the ways you can use your Barclaycard Arrival Plus miles to save $700 or more on your Disney vacation.
Disney Park Tickets
Purchasing Disney Park tickets directly through Disney will not code as a travel purchase. However, many ticket brokers will code as a travel purchase. And, you’ll usually save a little as well.
Our favorite is Undercover Tourist for both Disney World and Disneyland. We’ve used them multiple times and always have a great experience. Purchase your tickets through Undercover Tourist, using your Barclaycard Arrival Plus card, and you’ll be able to redeem your Barclaycard miles as a statement credit.
Disney hotels, including places like Aulani, are an eligible travel purchase with the Barclaycard.
For extra savings, we recommend using a shopping portal like Swagbucks to get to Hotels.com. A shopping portal will typically earn you 5%-10% in cash or points at Hotels.com who sells Disney rooms usually at the same price as Disney.
Flights are eligible travel purchases as well. This is true whether you book through Disney, a travel agent, or a third party site like Expedia.
Disney Vacation Packages
Purchasing a Disney vacation package is another good way to use your Barclaycard miles to get Disney tickets. While purchasing your tickets alone through Disney doesn’t code as a travel purchase, when you combine your tickets with your hotel stay, it does code as a travel purchase.
Food & Souvenirs
If you’re staying at a Disney hotel, charge your food and souvenir purchases back to your room. Because you’ll be ultimately be paying for them as part of your hotel stay, they’ll code as a travel purchase.
Barclaycard Arrival Plus
How It Works
The Barclaycard Arrival Plus is a popular rewards card among those who love Disney vacations. The biggest draw is its simplicity. Miles you earn are worth one cent each when you redeem them for an eligible travel purchase.
Sign Up Bonus
It currently has a 70,000 mile sign up bonus worth $700 after you spend $5,000 in the first 90 days. The $89 annual fee is waived in the first year.
What You Earn on Daily Spending
The Barclaycard Arrival Plus earns two miles on every dollar you spend. This 2% earning rate is increased because Barclaycard gives 5% of the miles you redeem back to you.
- 70,000 mile sign up bonus worth $700 toward a Disney vacation
- 2 points per dollar on all purchases (equal to 2%)
- Get 5% of miles spent back
