The Marriott Bonvoy Boundless credit card from Chase has recently increased it’s sign up bonus from 75,000 points to 100,000 points. You’ll likely get $700 to $800 in hotel stays out of this sign up bonus at Disneyland or Disney World.
When you sign up for the Marriott Bonvoy Boundless card and spend $5,000 in the first three months, you’ll get 100,000 points along with your $95 annual fee.
You’ll earn 6 points per dollar spent on the card at Marriott hotels. and 2 points per dollar on all other purchases.
The best perk comes your next annual fee and every one after. You get a free night at any Marriott hotel that costs 35,000 points per night or less. This perk is worth on average around $250.
Best Ways to Use The Sign Up Bonus
The best ways to use this sign up are at Disneyland in my opinion. The Four Points by Sheraton Anaheim, for example, is within walking distance of Disneyland and runs as little as 20,000 points per night. On the other end of the spectrum, the beautiful Courtyard Anaheim Theme Park Entrance is right across from Disneyland, comes with rooms over 500 square feet and costs 50,000 points on most nights. And, there are multiple options at the 35,000 point level, which is also useful for future free night certificates.
Disney World has the Swan and Dolphin, both of which cost 50,000 points on standard nights. However, it seems like more often than not, they charging the peak price of 60,000 points, something that’s hard to justify. Alternatively, the Gaylord Palms is often 35,000 points per night and a great option off-site.
Marriott is not my favorite hotel program. It’s hard to trust what your points will be worth. If you can be patient and use them when you’re going to get a good deal, they’re worth earning and this sign up bonus is worth getting. However, if you have a very specific trip you need these points for and need to know exactly what you’ll get for them, I would look elsewhere.
