Marriott Ko Olina Beach Club on Points

One way to save money on your Aulani vacation is to stay next door for a few nights on points. You might consider 4-5 nights at Aulani and 2-3 nights at the Marriott Ko Olina Beach Club on points. There’s a beach front pathway that connects the two hotels. It took us about 10 minutes to walk from one to the other. While you stay at the Marriott, you can still enjoy character meals at Aulani, Laniwai Spa, and other activities.

Plus, it’s a four star resort with a slightly higher TripAdvisor rating than Aulani. You can save a lot of points or cash staying there for part of your vacation and not have to move very far when it’s time for your Aulani stay.

One of the pools had at least 7 waterfalls, including one in each of the two hot tubs.

The water slide at the Marriott is shorter than the two at Aulani but MUCH faster.

The view from our room on points was fantastic. You can see Aulani in the distance.

The beach is almost identical to the one at Aulani.

The rooms are not quite as crisp as Aulani. This hotel feels a little older.

Marriott Ko Olina Beach Club on Points

If you were paying cash, you could expect to pay about $325 a night. On points, you can stay at the Marriott Ko Olina for 50,000 Marriott points per night. This is an increase which started on August 1st, 2018. It was 40,000 points per night before.

One of the best parts about the Marriott program is that you don’t have to have all the points in your account when you reserve the hotel room. You just need to have them 14 days ahead of your reservation. This can be really helpful if you want to book a room far in advance, but you don’t quite have the points you need.

It’s important to note that this property is part of the Marriott Vacation Club program. These are properties that often have limited availability on points. We checked three dates in the next six to eight months that might work for us. Only one of the dates was available on points. So, plan ahead or prepare to be flexible.
