You might want to sit down for this… we love Universal Studios. If you’re a Disney Parks fanatic, that may be hard to hear. It’s like politics these days, if you talk about it, you’re guaranteed to be unpopular with the half the room. But, it’s true. Diagon Alley is more immersive than any Disney land, including Cars Land. There, I said it.
New Hyatt House Orlando Universal
Opening August 1st, 2018 is the new Hyatt House Orlando Universal. It’s only a one mile walk to Universal’s City Walk, has shuttle service if you don’t want to walk, and offers free parking. Plus, you can get a 527-foot Studio Kitchen Suite for only 8,000 Hyatt points.
You get a full kitchen, two queen beds and a “separate” living room with a sofa bed. You can comfortably fit up to five people.
We just booked this room for our August trip and we’re really excited!
Not only does the Hyatt House offer a full kitchen, but it also offers complimentary breakfast with an omelette station. We’re kinda low brow people, so we do a little happy dance any time there’s a free omelette station.
Staying On Points
At only 8,000 points per night, the Hyatt House Orlando Universal is a steal. Our favorite way to earn Hyatt points is with Chase Ultimate Rewards. If you have the Sapphire Preferred or Sapphire Reserve cards, you can transfer points at a 1:1 rate to Hyatt.
Our suggestion between the two, if you’re new to Ultimate Rewards, is the Sapphire Preferred. It comes with a sign up bonus of 50,000 points, plus 5,000 more if you add an authorized user. All this with an annual fee that’s waived the first year. You could stay a whole week for free at this Hyatt House with the sign up bonus alone.
If you’re thinking about applying for Chase Sapphire Preferred, we’ll love you forever if you use our referral link. Chase gives us some points as well which we’ll use for our next Universal (or Disney) vacation. Thanks!
