Driving to Disney can be a great way to save money, but it can also be a great way for your family to experience the heritage of our country and spend time together. Whether you’re a road warrior or a family that loves stopping at historical markers, you can get great hotels for free using points on your road trip to Disney World.
Map: Road Trip to Disney World
We’ve created a map with hotels from major chains like Hyatt, Starwood, Hilton, Marriott, and Wyndham that require very few points per night along routes from many major cities. With these hotels you’ll have plenty of points left over for the rest of your trip or wherever your travels may take you in the future.
We’ve color coded the hotels by brand.
For each hotel, we’ve included the name, points per night you’ll need, and the credit card that we recommend to get those points. You can find more information on all these cards on our Popular Cards page.
Value in Perspective
Just to give you a sense of what a great deal these hotels can be, take a look at this chart that compares the range of points you’ll pay for these hotels in relation to the sign up bonus for the card.
|Hotel||Recommended Card||Sign Up Bonus||Points per Night|
|Hyatt||Chase Sapphire Preferred||55,000||5,000-8,000|
|Hilton||Hilton HHonors Surpass||75,000||10,000-20,000|
|Marriott||Marriott Rewards Premier||87,500||7,500-10,000|
Free Hotels at Disney Too
Each one of these hotels has some great options at Disney World as well. If you like maps, our Hotel Maps page has a Disney World map as well. If not, you’re probably not still reading, but check out our Top 10 page for some our very favorite uses of points around Disney World and Disneyland, many of them are hotels.
For instance, you can get free nights at the Swan & Dolphin with the Starwood card, or free nights at the Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress with the Chase Sapphire Preferred just to name a couple. While you can cover hotels on your road trip with these cards, you can pretty easily cover the cost of your hotel at Disney World as well.
