One mile from Disney Springs is the most economical hotel on points in Lake Buena Vista. Only 3,000 on weekends (Fri-Sat) and 4,000 during the week (Sun-Thur), if you’re cheap like me you should strongly consider the Sheraton Lake Buena Vista Resort on points.
An “Older” Four Star Resort
The Sheraton Lake Buena Vista Resort is technically a four star hotel that feels like a three star. It’s a beautiful resort with many wonderful features, but on close inspection it’s a bit worn around the edges. The pools are fantastic and the beds are comfortable, but complaints about shower pressure, noise, and other issues common to older hotels are typical here.

There’s something about palm trees that make you feel like you’re on vacation.

79 foot water slide (for the kids, of course).

The beds are comfortable and the rooms are spacious.
One drawback to this property, which should be pointed out, is the $23.95 per night resort fee that is not waived when using points to book the hotel. From our sample bookings, the hotel costs about $150 a night including taxes and the resort fee. But, when you use points, you’ll still have to pay the resort fee.
Starwood Preferred Guest Card
The Starwood card is currently offering a 35,000 point sign up bonus, more than enough to stay here 9 nights for free. Or, you could stay a week and save your points for the next trip. When you APPLY for the card and spend $3,000 in the first three months, you get an initial bonus of 25,000 points. Then, you get another 10,000 bonus points when you spend another $2,000 in the first six months.
