If you have any kind of side hustle, you’re likely eligible for a business credit card. If you sell Monat, Plexus, essential oils, Jamberry, etc., you can take advantage of the increased sign up bonus on the Starwood Preferred Guest Business Card.
35,000 Point Bonus
Spend $7,000 in the first three months and get 35,000 points with the Starwood Preferred Guest Business Card. The annual fee is waived the first year. It’s $95 a year after that. It comes with a free Club Level room at any Sheraton with a Club Lounge. We just used this perk at the Sheraton Park Anaheim last week.
We value Starwood points at about 2.4 cents each. So, the 42,000 points you’ll have after spending $7k is worth right at $1,000 toward your next Disney vacation at a Starwood hotel.
Best Ways to Spend Starwood Points
Starwood and Marriott just announced category changes that take affect next week on all bookings made starting March 6th. From that point, the Swan and Dolphin will both be 12,000 points most nights. This is still a really good deal during the busy seasons at Disney World.
We also just wrote a post about booking a Club Level room at the Sheraton Park Anaheim for 10,000 points per night with this card (11,000 without it). The free food saved us a bundle and the high floor facing Disneyland was nice too.
Is It Worth It?
$7,000 is quite a large amount to spend in three months. This could be a non-starter for a lot of people. You can put personal charges on a business credit card. It makes tracking your business expenses harder for tax purposes, but you might need to do it to spend this much in a three month period.
On the flip side, there are only a few credit card sign up bonuses worth close to $1,000 or more. This is now one of them. Starwood offered a similar deal last year and we took advantage because some of the best non-Disney hotels are Starwood.
