Stay on Points at The Laylow Autograph Collection

The Laylow Autograph Collection can be a great use of Marriott points in Honolulu. This new hotel, which opened in 2017, is a really convenient place to spend two or three days in the city before heading to Aulani. Here’s why:

Newly Renovated

The building underwent a $60 million renovation in order to become The Laylow and opened in 2017. We’ve all stayed at a hotel that was in desperate need of some TLC. At The Laylow everything is crisp and new.

Great for Families

A standard award room comes with the option of two king beds. We’re not big people but we sleep big. Trying to share queen or full size beds on vacation is not our favorite. Getting two king beds is a welcome option.

Location

The Laylow is surrounded by all the great shops and dining in Honolulu. This includes the famous Marukame Udon which is right across the street. It’s also only a quarter mile walk to Waikiki Beach. And, there’s an ABC grocery store down the street if you want to stock up on food before heading to Aulani (eating a Aulani can break the bank).

Value on Points

The Laylow increased from 40,000 to 50,000 points per night on August 1st, 2018. It averages about $300 a night after tax, so it’s probably only a good use of your points during busy travel seasons when prices are high.
