Is this the final death of gift card for gift card purchases at Target? It seems so. There is an actual Target gift card policy change now… in writing. It seems there will no longer be a way to buy Disney gift cards with Target gift cards, a long time favorite strategy for many.
Target Gift Card Policy Change
Here’s the new policy:
For comparison purposes, the old Target gift card policy used to read:
“Target GiftCards can’t be used to purchase the following:
- American Express, Visa, Mastercard and iTunes gift cards in store or from Target.com.
- Specialty gift cards from Target.com, including gift cards for gaming, music and restaurants, such as Xbox and Olive Garden.
- Target GiftCards from Target.com.”
Notice the difference? They’ve added the words “in store or” before the Target.com part. They stopped allowing online gift card for gift card purchases a few years back but continued to allow in store purchases. Now they’ve closed the in store option. A number of people over at Disboards.com have reported getting turned down in the last couple days.
Save on Disney Gift Cards at Target
Now that the Target gift card policy change changes everything, how can you save on Disney gift cards at Target?
The Target Redcard is a favorite of ours for all of our Target shopping. You get 5% off all purchases. Plus, they offer both a credit and debit version. The beauty of the debit version is there’s no credit check. It just links to your checking account. That’s a pretty easy 5% savings. The application is quick and easy too.
While a 5% discount on Disney gift cards may not the biggest discount, it’s without question the easiest.
