Most credit cards tell you how to earn points, but it’s not always clear how much value you’ll get when you redeem them. We’ve compiled average point values of some of the solid redemption options around Disneyland and Walt Disney World. Some redemptions will get you more or less value than others, but this will give a good idea of what you can expect.
Example: If you have 10,000 Rapid Rewards (Southwest Airlines), it will be worth around $150 in flights (10,000 x $0.015 = $150).
It’s important to note that these averages are for redemptions related to Disney travel and won’t be as accurate for other travel destinations. For instance, IHG gives poor value around Disney parks, probably because they know it’s a popular place to redeem points. In other places, an IHG point might be worth 50% more.
We haven’t listed all the major rewards programs because some just aren’t a great fit for Disney Parks travel. For instance, a good deal on a Delta flight from Atlanta (a Delta hub) to Orlando might be 19,000 points, or a flight on American from Dallas (an American hub) to Orlando would be 25,000 points. That’s a lot of points! On Southwest, however, you could do both of those flights for 5,000 to 7,000 points roundtrip.
