Top 8 Reasons to Get the World of Hyatt Credit Card for Disney

The World of Hyatt Credit Card is an important part of our strategy for saving on Disney vacations. It’s not only a card to get for the great sign up bonus, but it’s a card you keep forever as well. Here are the top 7 reasons to get The World of Hyatt Credit Card for Disney vacations.

1) $1,000 Sign Up Bonus

Earn 50,000 total points! You’ll get 25,000 points initially after spending $3,000 in the first three months. You get another 25,000 points after spending a total of $6,000 in the first six months. Hyatt points are worth about two cents each, so you’ll get about $1,000 in free hotel stays out of your 50,000 points.

2) A Free Night Every Year

Starting on your first card member anniversary, you’ll get one free night ever year in a Category 1-4 hotel. Category 4 hotels typically cost $250-$300 a night. The annual fee of the card is only $95. If this was the only benefit of the card it would be worth the annual fee every year.

3) Another Free Night Every Year

If you spend $15,000 a year, you’ll get another free night certificate just like the one above. Plus, you still get all the points you’ve earned from spending $15,000.

4) Great Disney Hotels

There are lots of great Hyatt hotel options around Disney World, Disneyland, and near Aulani. Each of the hotels we’ll mention is a Category 3-4, meaning they are all eligible for the free night benefit.

Disney World – Our favorite is the Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress which costs 12,000 points per night. Located just a mile from Disney Springs, it’s close enough to still feel like you’re in the bubble. Your sign up bonus will get you four free nights!

Disneyland – The Hyatt House in Anaheim is just across the street from Cars Land. It will cost you 15,000 points per night. Other great options include the Hyatt Place Anaheim and Hyatt Regency Orange County. Both are a little further from the parks but also cost 12,000 points per night.

Aulani – We love the Hyatt Place Waikiki Beach for a few days of site seeing before heading out to Aulani. For only 12,000 points per night, it’s one of the best deals on points on all of Oahu.

Universal Orlando – Both the Hyatt House Across from Universal Orlando and Hyatt Place Across from Universal Orlando are just as the name suggests… within walking distance of Universal Orlando. Both cost 12,000 points per night.

5) Chase Offers

The World of Hyatt Card also comes with Chase Offers, a fantastic rebate program for saving on Disney gift cards. The program offers a percentage rebate to a variety of retail stores (with a cap). You add offers to your card, spend the money on that card, and a rebate automatically hits your account. When a store sells Disney gift cards, it’s an easy way to save on your next vacation.

6) “Discoverist” Status

Let’s just start by acknowledging that Hyatt has terrible names for their loyalty program. Discoverist? Despite the name, this level of status with Hyatt is worth having. You get an upgrade, subject to availability, to a preferred room. This is a room with a better view, which can mean a fireworks view. This benefit comes free with the World of Hyatt Credit Card.

7) Lounge Passes

If you stay a total of 20 nights in a year, you get two free lounge passes, each one covering your entire stay. The Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress in Orlando is one of the hotels that has a club lounge. This is a great way to get free breakfast, drinks, a cool fireworks view and more.

And, it’s actually not very hard to reach those 20 nights. When you hold the World of Hyatt Credit Card, your account starts off with 5 nights of credit toward your status. And, for every $5,000 you spend on the card, you get 2 more nights. If you plan to spend at least $15,000 on your card to get that second free night listed above, that will get you 6 nights. Plus, all the nights you stay on points count toward your total.

8) Part of Ultimate Rewards

Hyatt is one of the transfer partners in the Chase Ultimate Rewards program. We regularly transfer points to Hyatt as part of our Chase Ultimate Rewards Strategy for Disney vacations. Adding on the perks that come with this card makes it that much better.

If you like Hyatt hotels and love Disney vacations, we strongly recommend the World of Hyatt Credit Card for Disney vacations. The sign up bonus is tremendous.
